EMPC Audiovisual Heritage Restoration Center is currently restoring the two movies, “Scandal in Zamalek” and “Bandit”, which were produced in 1959. This comes within the framework of the protocol signed between the city and “Konouz for Cinema production” company to restore 50 feature films from the masterpieces of Egyptian cinema at the Heritage Restoration Center.

The movies will undergo the processes of digital restoration, color correction, and image transfer to the high-quality 4K technology, using the latest scientific and technological equipment applied in this field. This is due to the fact that many of these movies were damaged, got very old at various levels and became unfit for screening.

It is noteworthy to mention that EMPC Restoration Center has finished, in accordance with this protocol, the restoration of a number of movies, including “Midnight Driver,” “The Imposter,” “Spoiled Girls” “Life Cabaret” “The Miserables,” and “People at the Top”. The rest of the movies submitted by Konouz company are under examination, in preparation to be restored to bring them back to life with the best possible image and sound quality.
