International producer/ Dimitri Devyatkin visited the Egyptian Media Media Production City Co. (EMPC) and during the visit, he inspected a number of studios and the Dolby Atmos studio, where he expressed his great admiration for EMPC artistic and technological amenities. In addition to EMPC back lots which are characterized by the great diversity of architectural styles that suit all types of filming. Devyatkin is considered one of the leading international producers and has many important feature films and documentaries, the most famous of which are “Ferocious”, “American Genius”, and “Pharaoh”.
After the tour, the international producer met Mr. Ahmed Sami, General Manager of Egypt Film Commission at EMPC, and discussed prospects of mutual-cooperation and the possibility of producing a blockbuster movie in Egypt, under the supervision of the committee, which is the only official body responsible for issuing permits for filming foreign movies in Egypt. This is done in coordination with the concerned authorities and in accordance with the one-stop-shop system, which allows international production companies to carry out their works in Egypt from one place, without any obstacles or difficulties. The committee also provides all the required logistical facilities and production services to the crews of international production companies that wish to film in Egypt, as it finalizes the procedures of equipment customs release, obtains travel visas, as well as permits for aerial shooting, in addition to the security services for the work team.
It is noteworthy to mention that, during the past two years, Egypt Film Commission has supervised the filming of more than 30 foreign feature films and documentaries, from various nationalities that represent international cinema, at many archaeological sites and tourist attractions in Egypt.
