A delegation from the Saudi Radio and TV Corporation visits EMPC

Abdel Fattah Al-Gibali, EMPC Chairman of the Board received Mr. Muhammad Al-Harithi, CEO of the Saudi Radio and Television Corporation, heading a high-level media delegation that included Engineer Hatem Abu Nassef, Vice-president for Engineering and Technical Affairs. The meeting was attended by Dr. Amr Al-Laithi / President of the Radio and Television Union of Islamic cooperation countries.

Al-Gibali welcomed the visit, which comes within the framework of strengthening the bonds of friendship between brothers, and briefed the delegation on EMPC technical capabilities, its major activities, its top-notch studios that are equipped with the latest technical means. He stressed the great cooperation between EMPC and the Kingdom in many media and cultural fields, including the establishment of the largest entertainment area in the Middle East with huge Saudi investments, expressing his hope for more cooperation between the two sides in the near future.

For his part, Al-Harithi pointed out the strong historical relations between Egypt and the Kingdom at various levels, especially in the media relations, which highlight consensus in visions, and are characterized by close brotherhood ties. He expressed his gratitude for EMPC warm reception and during the meeting, Dr. Amr Al-Laithi mentioned how EMPC has witnessed a major transformation at the time of its current chairman, as he is considered one of the leading economists and has great experience in the field of media. He added that EMPC has highly contributed in the production of drama series and artistic works. 

The delegation started its tour by watching a documentary highlighting the history of EMPC and the stages of development it has recently witnessed, until it has become one of the largest media and economic entities in the Middle East. 

Afterwards, the delegation had a comprehensive tour around the city that included the Center for the Restoration of Audiovisual Heritage, which preserves Egypt’s treasures of old movies and protects them from damage and aging. They listened to an detailed explanation from engineer Nada Hossam, director of the center, about the method of transferring these movies to high-quality 4K technology.

The delegation then went to the Dolby Atmos studio, which is considered the most advanced in the world in the fields of audio recording and mixing applications, and approved by Dolby International. The delegation also visited EMPC UP Skill training and development center, where they saw the center training halls, lectures, and scientific laboratories, and listened to a detailed explanation from Dr. Amani. Farouk, Director of the Center, about how it works, especially since the Center has recently signed a number of protocols with many Arab and Egyptian universities to train students in various media fields. 

Then, the delegation had a tour around EMPC back lots, where they saw the ongoing preparations for filming series. They visited the series “The Assassins” plateau while filming and met the series star Karim Abdel Aziz, its director Peter Mimi, and the series crew.

By the end of the tour, the delegation visited MBC channel studios. They saw the decors of the channel’s programs, listened to a detailed explanation from its supervisors, and met with a number of its famous anchors.
